Traditional Brazilian Dishes

The following are just a few of the more popular and traditional Brazilian dishes that are a must-try when partaking in a Brazilian culinary experience:

Feijoada – This is unmistakably the most well-known of all Brazilian dishes. Feijoada is made and eaten in every corner of the country. This dish is made from black beans slow-cooked with different cuts of pork, tomatoes, cabbage, and carrots. Traditionally, Brazil’s national dish is served with rice, farofa (see below), and orange slices.

Great brazilian cuisine can be found at many restaurants in marietta ga that serve feijoada

Moqueca de Camarão – This slow-cooked stew is typically made with prawns or fish, coconut oil, milk, and vegetables like tomatoes, onions, and coriander. Served piping hot, this dish does not disappoint.

Great brazilian cuisine like shrimp stew can be found at restaurants in marietta ga

Farofa – This is a deliciously salty side dish made from small pieces of bacon fried with cassava flour. It is typically served with rice and beans, which absorb the juices and add an extra texture but pairs well with Brazilian BBQ.

Pão de Queijo – Brazilian “cheese bread” comes from the Minas Gerais region of southern Brazil. The light, fluffy baked cheese rolls are made from cassava flour and queijo Minas, a Brazilian soft cheese.

Great brazilian cuisine like pao de queijo can be found at restaurants in marietta ga

Brigadeiro – This is Brazil’s version of the chocolate truffle. This scrumptious classic dessert is made of condensed milk, cocoa powder, and butter. The dessert is then shaped into balls and covered in chocolate sprinkles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Are there any vegan or vegetarian options at Brazilian BBQ restaurants?
Answer: Absolutely! There are tons of fresh vegetables and fruits at the salad bar, rolls made from Yucca flour, fried bananas, plantains, cheeses, and salads.

Question: What is the hourglass-shaped device on the tables in Brazilian BBQ restaurants?
Answer: In restaurants where the meat is carved at your table, this hourglass-shaped device is typically colored green on one side and red on the other. As long as the green side is up, the carvers will continue coming to your table. Once you flip it over (red side up), you are signaling them to stop.

Inside the Industry with Todd’s Marietta Tree Services

Beware of the “pop-up” tree service companies! In this market, it sometimes seems that anyone with a chainsaw and a pickup truck will call themselves a tree service.

Doing business with people like this may result in irreversible damage to otherwise healthy trees, or worse. Their lack of insurance may leave you helpless in cases where their negligence causes structural damage to your property or physical harm to any person.

Reputable tree service companies will be more than happy to show you their credentials, licenses, and most importantly, their insurance policy.

Always check the above information, and make sure they have great reviews before deciding who to trust with so much responsibility.

History of the City of Marietta Georgia

It was in 1833 that the first plot of land was laid out in Marietta. As it was for most towns, there was a courthouse in a city square and the community developed around it. Marietta was officially recognized by the Georgia General Assembly on December 19, 1834.

The City of Marietta was to be the hub for the Western and Atlantic Railroad, and with this, business boomed. By 1838, to the north of the city, an infrastructure including roadbed and trestles had been built. It was in 1840 that politics stepped in the way and construction was halted.

It was determined by new management of the railroad in 1842 to relocate the hub to the area, which would later become Atlanta. Regardless of the setback, when railroad operations began, Marietta saw its share of the resulting prosperity.

John Glover became the City of Marietta’s first elected mayor when it was incorporated in 1852.
